A gentle, intentional, and slow moving class.

This class will include exercises that encompass both internal and physical refinement. Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) emphasizes the balance of Yin and Yang in life, which are the two types of energy that make up all things in the world and universe. Yin represents something passive and spiritual, reflected in the internal refinement exercises and meditations. Yang represents something physical and active, reflected in the physical refinement exercises and movements. These movements are all inclusive, and can be performed while standing, sitting, or laying down. The movements are gentle, intentional, and slow, helping you to ground yourself and become one with the energy around and within you. When both Yin and Yang are in balance, your energy is able to flow freely throughout your body and you are healthy and at ease. Qi translates to energy, breath, or vitality, and gong translates to practice, work, or cultivate, so by practicing qigong you are cultivating and transforming the energy within your body. Most importantly, SFQ emphasizes the positive message of “good, better, best.” No matter how brief your practice is, it is still good. You can work towards longer practices, which makes it better, until you have implemented a regular practice in your everyday life, which is best.
