ENLIVEN, EXPLORE AND LIVE A LIFE EMBOIDED
Danielle Arnold is the founder and visionary behind Notice Wellness, a bold, heart-centered space where yoga and psychotherapy meet to support embodied healing and authentic growth. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree from the University of San Francisco, a certified yoga instructor, and the director of the Notice Wellness Yoga Teacher Training Program. Danielle is also the director of the annual yoga festival, Mindfulness Triathlon, held in Nisswa every May. Rooted in both science and soul, Danielle’s holistic therapeutic approach is grounded in the principles of the Polyvagal Theory; helping clients gently reconnect with safety, self-awareness, and embodied resilience. Her work blends nervous system regulation and mindfulness-based practices to help people reconnect with themselves and create lasting change. Her approach bridges talk therapy with movement, breathwork, and embodied awareness, guiding individuals toward deeper understanding, balance, and purpose. Danielle works with those who seek more than surface-level change — individuals craving clarity, groundedness, and growth that radiates into every space of their lives. With over 15 years of dedicated yoga practice and extensive experience counseling both youth and adults, she brings compassion, presence, and powerful insight to her work. Her passion is helping people come home to themselves, rediscover their inner wisdom, and move through life with confidence, intention, and connection. Danielle integrates embodied counseling and somatic therapy, combining traditional talk therapy with body-centered practices like breathwork, movement, and mindfulness to foster self-awareness and healing. With extensive experience counseling youth and adults, she addresses challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, social justice issues, and stress management. Danielle is LGBTQIA+ affirming and has worked in diverse settings, including outpatient treatment centers, schools, and homes. Using an integrative counseling approach, Danielle draws from multiple therapeutic models to tailor care to each client’s needs. She emphasizes nervous system regulation, helping clients balance their parasympathetic and sympathetic responses while cultivating a deeper connection to their physical, emotional, and spiritual selves. Having practiced yoga for over 15 years, Danielle believes yoga is a cornerstone for inner peace and personal growth. She is passionate about empowering others on their journey toward healing and well-being. Yoga Instructor
Aftyn, a Brainerd native, began her journey into yoga and inner self-discovery at a young age. Her practice has taken her across the globe—from Bali to Argentina—and deepened further during her time living in Hawaii. Guided by a passion for connection and community, Aftyn became certified in 100-hour Women’s Circle Facilitation, creating sacred spaces for shared growth and empowerment. She remains a devoted student of yoga and mindfulness, continually exploring the depths of her own spiritual path and personal evolution.
Melissa Owen
CYT 200
Melissa found her way to yoga around 2007 as a way to cross train for dance in the off- season. She began teaching Powerflow ( a combination of yoga and Pilates) in 2009 while attending college. She obtained her 200 hour yoga certification, yoga extension and 50 hr yoga sculpt certification in 2014 from Core Power Yoga. When she returned to the Brainerd Lakes area she taught Vinyasa and Sculpt for Nisswa Yoga for about 6 years. After a two year break to stay home with her littles she is so happy to be back in the studio teaching again. What began as a journey to maintain strength and flexibility for dance turned into a life-long passion. Melissa strives to create classes that are accessible for all ability levels. She values a practice that is strong and adventurous, yet mindful of what the body needs in that moment. Her goal is for students to feel safe to explore and ask questions and to leave more grounded and peaceful in body and mind.

Helene Danielson
CYT 200
Helene seeks to create balance in her yoga practice. A balance of breath and movement, softness and strength, energy and peace. The mat is a place to turn attention inward for both physical and mental well-being. Helene completed her training through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis (now the Yoga Center Retreat) in 2017 and has since been teaching in various capacities in the BLA. She brings a calming energy to her vinyasa classes and strives to create a practice where each person can find what they need.
